Dr. Chung Yuan Kung is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan. He earned his BS (1969) and MS (1972) in Physics from National Tsing Hua University, an MS in Physics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (1974), and a PhD in Materials Science from Northwestern University (1979). After postdoctoral research at Georgia Tech and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and six years in the U.S. semiconductor industry with Fairchild and National Semiconductor, Dr. Kung joined Taiwan’s ITRI in 1987 and served on NCHU’s faculty from 1991 until his retirement in 2016. Dr Wen-Hua Chen recently joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as Chair Professor in Robotics and Autonomous Systems and the Director of Research Centre for Low Altitude Economy. Before that, he was Professor in Autonomous Vehicles in the Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering at Loughborough University, UK, which he currently holds as an adjunct appointment. Prof. Chen has considerable experience in control, signal processing and artificial intelligence and their applications in aerospace, automotive and agriculture systems. In the last 20 years, he has been working on the development and application of unmanned aircraft and intelligent vehicle technologies, spanning autopilots, situational awareness, decision making, verification, remote sensing for precision agriculture and environment monitoring. He is a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of IEEE, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK. Prof Chen currently holds a 5-years UK EPSRC (the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) Established Career Fellowship award in developing new control theory for robotics and autonomous systems.

In 1971, he defended his PhD thesis, and in 1990, his doctoral dissertation in two specialties. His first scientific publications and inventions were made in 1965-1968 and are related to the research, development and implementation in industry of low-temperature methods for obtaining permanent connections of dissimilar crystalline materials (hard magnetic materials with soft magnetic materials, metals with inorganic dielectrics, etc. while preserving the original electrophysical properties and geometry of products), based on the use of ultradispersed media arising from the decomposition of crystalline organometallic salts (formates, oxalates), thereby laying the foundations for the use of nanoparticles in technological processes. All his creative engineering and scientific activities were and remain related to the theory and technology of contact interaction of crystalline materials in the solid state under deformation and thermal deformation effects on them, the development on this basis of new technologies and methods for studying metals and alloys of the origin and propagation of submicrocracks in the metal of welded structures. He is the author of the method for calculating microstresses of the second kind, which makes it possible to explain the mechanism of relay transmission of deformation from grain to grain and the origin of submicrocracks; developed a mechanical-physical-chemical theory of hardening during contact interaction of materials in a solid state.

Dr. Detlef Hoyer has a PhD in theoretical electrical Engineering and focused his research upon classical 5D-Kaluza relativity theory. He investigates Einstein-Maxwell equations derived from 5D Kaluza metric with respect to a scalar field affecting both, gravity and electromagnetism. Recently he began to examine the 5D geodesic equation, which includes electomagnetic forces. Because geodesic equations are about acceleration and not about force, the term charge q over mass m has to be taken into account. Predictions of the theory are reduction of effective mass and a fifth force. Until it is not known, how to achieve those effects or even if they exist at all, his calculations aim for hints, how to arrange experiments for verification or falsification. Dr. Detlef Hoyer earned a college diploma in magnetism and low temperature physics in 1986. He completed his Ph.D. at the Hamburg University of Technology in 1992. Since then he worked as a software developer at a major German insurance company. In 2004 he started his research on Riemannian curvature of higher dimensional manifolds. Now he is an Alumnus of the Technical University of Hamburg in Germany and retired in November 2024.

Ümit Deniz GÖKER received her Ph.D. on ‘Shock Wave Structures in Solar Plasma’ and attended a project on ‘The Design of Turbopumps Using Liquified Fuel and Cavitation Optimization’ in 2010 at the Ege University and İstanbul Technical University, respectively. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Bosphorus University between the years 2011-2017. She worked at the National Defense University, Air Force Academy, as an Associate Professor between the years 2018-2021 before she received her professorship status in November, 2024. She was at the Czech Academy of Sciences, between the years 2022-2024 for Sabbatical Fellow. She is currently working as a Professor at Beykent University. Her research interests include Solar Physics, Near-Space Physics, Plasma Physics, Climate Change, and Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering

Born in 1940. I hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the ETSII in the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and a degree in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid. I have been engineer specialized in air conditioning installations, Consulting Engineer, public servant in the tax administration agency, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Finance of Spain, responsible for the data processing center, professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and business advisor. With a group of collaborators, I have developed over the last fifty years a private research project in rotational dynamics, conducting experimental tests and proposing a scientific theory about the behavior of bodies subjected to accelerations, called the Theory of Dynamic Interactions. I have published more than thirty books on physics, engineering, and history, and numerous articles on these topics. Currently retired, but I continue working on research projects and writing books and articles.

Koen Bertels has been a Professor in Quantum Computer Architecture with the University of Porto, Porto, Portugal and the University of Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, for three years. He works on computer engineering aspects of realizing a quantum accelerator investigating the challenges of system design and architecture. Dr. Sheikh Islam is the Head of Engineering at University of Staffordshire, bringing over 13 years of experience in academia and industry to his role. Dr. Islam's prior teaching leadership positions include serving as an Associate Dean, an academic strategic lead (head of the mechanical engineering discipline), an academic Team lead, and a senior lecturer for mechanical engineering courses. Dr Islam gained his PhD from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen through research on computational fluid dynamics modelling of Proton exchange membrane fuel cells. His research interests include PEM fuel cell modelling, Vertical axis wind turbine, engineering design optimisation, multi-phase flow and heat transfer analysis for industrial applications. He has co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings

Dr. Harish Sivasankaran is working as an associate professor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchirapalli. Prior to moving to the institute, he was a Principal Scientist at the University of Tokyo, Japan till March 2024, and Assistant Professor at the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Kyushu University, Japan till March 2020. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from The University of Tokyo, Japan in 2013 under the supervision of distinguished professor Shigeo Maruyama. He worked as a JSPS post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kyushu University, Fukuoka after his graduation. He obtained his Master of Science degree in 2010 from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in 2007. He is listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world by Elsevier. He was a visiting lecturer at The University of Edinburgh in 2017, a Visiting research fellow at Stanford University, USA in 2011, and worked as a research intern at CERN Particle Physics Laboratory, Geneva in the Electronics Cooling Division in 2009 and at Arizona State University in 2008. He was a recipient of the ASML-Henk Bodt Fellowship, the Royal-Dutch Shell Personal Development Award, the Marie-Curie Fellowship, the Monbukogakusho fellowship from the Japan Ministry of Science and Education, and Post-Doctoral fellowship from the Japan Society of Promotion of Science. He has published 57 peer-reviewed journal articles with a h-index of 36 and an i-10 index of 48 and has more than 65 conference presentations. He has written 3 book chapters and served as the guest editor for the book titled “Proceedings of the International Conference on Polygeneration”. He is currently the guest editor for the journal Heat Transfer Engineering (Taylor & Francis) and serves as a peer-reviewer for 44 journals. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Thermal and Fluid Engineers, and Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. His current research interests include waste heat harvesting using nanostructured thermoelectric, phase change heat transport using metal-organic frameworks, and nanocomposites for electronics cooling and thermal energy storage applications.
